Singapore Red Cross’ Lend a Hand for Humanity Campaign Aims to Get More People to Help

Singapore Red Cross is a humanitarian organisation helping vulnerable communities in Singapore and bringing awareness to those in need. They have recently launched a new campaign to amplify their efforts even further.

What is the Lend a Hand for Humanity Campaign?

The Lend a Hand for Humanity Campaign is a marketing campaign initiated by Singapore Red Cross to help raise donations and volunteers during challenging times and beyond.

Plenty of Singaporeans continue to be affected by global inflation and the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through this campaign, they hope to shed light on those in need and showcase just how transformative and impactful it can be to help out in the smallest way possible.

Singapore Red Cross addresses the needs of Singaporeans who face adverse circumstances and experience complicated situations with the hope of sparking a fire in people who can help make a difference in their lives.

Whether you can make time to volunteer or can only donate a small amount, every little bit helps and can already go a long way in other people’s lives.

The Beneficiaries You Will Be Helping With

ElderAid

Singapore Red Cross' ElderAid helps senior citizens who live independently feel less vulnerable and alone. Their community volunteers visit elders at home to help them with their needs and simply spend time with them. This beneficiary aims to reduce vulnerability as the volunteers engage with the elders.

Family LifeAid

Family LifeAid aims to help vulnerable families in Singapore become stronger in a social, financial, and emotional sense. This includes food vouchers so the family can properly advance in life.

TransportAid

Singapore Red Cross' TransportAid helps low-income disabled and elderly people get to and from healthcare service facilities, rehabilitation centres, and day activity centres as needed. Knowing that those who have trouble walking have difficulty getting to places because of limited mobility, TransportAid offers the necessary transportation. The same goes for those who have financial problems and may not have the means to travel.

Disability Home

As the name suggests, Singapore Red Cross' Disability Home is a residential home for the disabled that offers quality care to those unable to care for themselves. The team comprises dedicated therapists, healthcare aides, speech and occupational therapists, nursing professionals, and physiotherapists for different needs.

Day Activity Centre

Singapore Red Cross' Day Activity Centre provides care for the disabled who can go home to their loved ones afterwards. During the day, they host therapeutic, social, and recreational activities that teach daily and community living skills so that the disabled can learn to become more independent.

The Creative Concept of Singapore Red Cross’ Lend a Hand for Humanity Campaign

The creative concept of the Lend a Hand for Humanity campaign was conceptualised by creative agency AM Collective. Knowing that the public responds better to fun, approachable, relatable, and heartwarming content, the art direction intentionally gives the campaign a playful and vibrant touch.

With hands placing different types of help into people's lives, the concept effectively shows the audience how much their mere time and presence can make a difference in somebody's life. This enables the audience to empathise with people from all walks of life and visualise the joy their help and support could bring those in need.

All the while, AM collective has maintained the Singapore Red Cross branding throughout the campaign. The underlying messages ensure that the public understands the struggles that some people experience in life. At the same time, the campaign encourages people to volunteer and do what they can to lighten the load off of these people's backs. In a fun and subtle way, it also shows them that a little can already go a long way.

Fund Raising Through Singapore Red Cross’ Lend a Hand for Humanity Campaign

The Singapore Red Cross’ Lend a Hand for Humanity Campaign hopes to get more volunteers and donations to help their cause. This is not the first time that Singapore Red Cross has raised funds for vulnerable communities, either. Earlier this year, they partnered with Maybank Singapore to raise donations through the Walk for Humanity campaign. AM Collective was also the creative agency that conceptualised the creative concept of that campaign, which raised almost S$60,000 in total.
