Express Your Support with Facebook New Care Emojis
As a lot of us continue to stay indoors, Facebook has become a go-to platform for many people to check in with their friends, family and neighbours during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Facebook is reaching out to hug the world in the form of an emoji people can share while staying safely apart.
Facebook has launched its sixth reaction emoji with availability on both the main Facebook platform and on the Messenger app.
Facebook two new Care emojis
To be expanded next week, the new Care reactions emoji characters are available for everyone to express feelings in the social network.
Facebook will include a well-known round yellow cartoon face with its arms which embrace a red heart. The reaction emoji joins the previous reactions, including the laughing face, angry face, thumbs up, sad face, and heart.
Facebook's mobile Messenger service will be getting a multi-hued bluish-red heart drawn as though it is beating.
Alexandru Voica, the spokesman from Facebook, said in a series of tweets that Facebook will be launching new care reactions on its app and mobile Messenger. This is a way for people to share their support during this COVID-19 crisis.
The emoji can be accessed via the Like button in the same way that the current Facebook reaction staples of thumbs-up, laughter, sadness, amazement, love and anger. Voica said the emoji can be added to "posts, comments, images, videos or other content."
Stay connected on social networks
It has been over four years ever since Facebook expanded its emoji reaction choices for expressing feelings by holding over a character and sharing it with a friend.
Facebook and its services which includes video chats and messaging, have been used by over two billion people. The number of users has surged as people are turning to the social networks to remain connected during COVID-19 lockdowns.
